Facebook Data Center, Luleå

Founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, the software company established the first global “social network” and now connects more than 2.5 billion active users.
In addition, Facebook offers messenger services and platforms for software development. The 27,000 square meter data center is located about 100 kilometers
south of the Arctic Circle, in an ideal climate zone for data centers requiring cooling.

The average annual temperature of 2° Celsius prevailing here reduces the mechanical cooling effort and contributes to energy-efficient plant operation.
Facebook covers the power requirements for the data center with green electricity from hydropower and Condair solutions
are used for energy-efficient evaporative cooling.
